Carbisdale Castle Youth Hostel stands on the south bank of the Kyle of Sutherland in a prominent position on Carbisdale Heights, Scotland. It was built between 1906 and 1917 for the Dowager Duchess of Sutherland. Since then it has housed wealthy and influential people, and even served as a royal refuge.
This fantastic building has accommodation for approximately 189 guests, The Castle has a large art collection and a collection of Italian marble statues on display in a main gallery. Facilities at the Youth Hostel. Carbisdale is set in an area of extensive natural beauty over - looking the river Kyle. Local attractions include distilleries, castles, nature walks, and historic villages only a short drive away.
Carbisdale Castle is open from March to Oct for individual parties and for exclusive hire from November to the end of February. Opening periods and prices, checking in times, directions and contact information is available in our General Information section.
